Spring is Springing! Yay! Just like the weather seasons come and go, so do the seasons of life. Our youngest just turned 12 and our oldest will be 16 in just 2 short years! We were reminded that we have shared 18 years of birthdays together!
Some of life’s seasons will be HOT and others will be COLD, some high and some low.
Unfortunately, there are some that will have a Spring Time they would much rather forget. With all the beauty this Spring time brings, there is also the ugly for some. Just down the street from where I’m typing this, The Elder’s House is full of teens affected by tragedies such as abuse and neglect. For some they just do not have the proper means or environment to make and reach educational or vocational goals in life. For them, Spring time is the furthest thing from their mind. Don’t get us wrong, these kids long to play out in the yard or ride their bikes – but uncontrolled circumstances on their part have in many cases kept them from being able to do so and they have prayed for help. The Elder’s House gives them back the chance to be nurtured, guided and educated and to enjoy a lovely spring day or activity at this critical time in their lives.
